New Beginning

new beginningToday is Sunday, January 3 and it’s quiet. After two long holiday weekends and lots of time with family and friends, today is a quiet day to sit and reflect about the New Beginning ahead. If you’re like many people, you made some promises to yourself (Resolutions), and this New Beginning needs to include those.

Well, I look at today as a day to think about what was said in the heat of the moment and decide which of those promises I will keep and which I will modify or throw out altogether. They are my resolutions after all and it’s my new beginning. So I can do what I want! You should take some time today to do that too. Look at it as a fresh commitment to a New Beginning.

Regardless of which resolutions you made and which ones you will TRY to keep, this time of year is always a good time to wipe the slate clean and start over. We all have things that we want to change about the last year. Take a serious look at where you thought you would be today. Did it happen? If so, GREAT! Celebrate it and move in to this year with the bar set a little higher.

Are you NOT where you want to be?new beginning

Lots of people are in that boat with you. Let go of it, forget it and move on to a New Beginning. Today is a good day to reflect on what you will do differently this year so that January 1, 2017 you can celebrate reaching your goal, whatever it is. Maybe incorporate some of the tips from the posts above.

Making Your New Beginning a Reality

I did a series of three blog posts before New Years that will give you some tips on how to keep those promises you’re making for 2016.

You can click on the links above to review them.

Whatever you do, do something. Unless of course, you want to be in the same place this time next year. If that’s your goal, just keep on keepin’ on.

I suggest you do what I’m doing today and make some plans to take action toward a New Beginning. What have you got to lose?

  1. Hey Cynthia

Thanks for sharing this post and of course this is the perfect time of year to be reflecting on the past year and making any necessary course corrections.

Like you said, the past is behind us and it is time to TAKE ACTION, move forward and make 2016 your best year ever.

  2. I absolutely love your mindset when it comes to resolutions. Decide which ones to keep and which ones to throw out. We make dramatic decisions in the heat of the moment and it’s good to take a step back and decide which ones truly matter. Very excellent post.
